Laser closing of blood vessels (spider veins) is a procedure performed at our clinic using a Nd: YAG laser. Modern technology used in laser prevents excessive overheating, so that the risk of skin damage is minimized. Laser act selectively on enlarged capillaries, and therefore does not damage the surrounding tissue.
While performing the procedure, the light energy emitted from the laser is absorbed by the red blood pigment (hemoglobin), and the blood coagulates or evaporated. As a result, the blood vessel is destroyed from the inside and after a while is removed from the body itself. After the procedure, you may receive the erythema, which disappears after a few hours. Sometimes be felt a burning sensation, and in exceptional cases it may be swelling. Immediately after surgery, the patient can return to his duties.
