Laser Treatment for varicose veins using EVLT (EndoVenous Laser Treatment) is currently the standard treatment for venous insufficiency. This method consists of irradiation of the incompetent venous trunk by introducing into its interior the fiber laser. A liberated energy causes shrinkage and closure of incompetent veins, so there is no need for its surgical removal. The procedure is minimally invasive and the convalescence fast. The use of laser gives the possibility avoid cuts and by consequence postoperative hematoma.

The procedure is performed under ultrasound guidance and takes about an hour. It does not require anesthesia. The patient after surgery should wear for a several weeks special medical compression stockings.
