One way of treatment of advanced primary liver tumors is the intraarterial embolization and chemo-embolization. Most of the patients at the time of diagnosis of the disease is not eligible for an optimal method of treatment which is surgery. In our clinic can be palliative endovascular treatment of tumors on the substrate of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and certain metastatic tumors in the liver.

For who is this treatment:
Embolization and chemo-embolization of liver tumors on the ground HCC is recommended for patients who are not eligible for surgery.
What is the embolization treatment:
Embolization treatment consists in introducing into the hepatic artery a special catheter which is placed in the vicinity of the tumor, and then administration by the catheter a specific micro-particles which clogging the arteries nourish, cut off the blood supply to the tumor. This is to cause tumor necrosis, and inhibition of tumor growth.
The treatment of chemo-embolization is also the special administration microparticles that have previously saturated the anticancer drug, slowly release the drug directly into the tumor to avoid severe side effects that occur with intravenous administration. A satisfactory effect is obtained in approximately 50% of patients after a single treatment. Treatments can be repeated.
Qualification for surgery and hospitalization:
Consultation and qualification for the surgery draws on the spot based on the current liver CT scan performed in multi-phase mode. Length of stay in the hospital after embolization is approximately 4 days.
Price of the treatment is determined individually during the consultation and depends on the scale of its complexity.
